Mind That grew out of Niche FM - a New Zealand facilities firm that couldn't find software that worked the way they did. Now it runs the jobs, assets and contractors behind some of the country's biggest portfolios.

In the field
Running facility, energy and infrastructure portfolios around New Zealand - jobs, assets, contractors and sites, all in one place.
How it started.
Nothing fit, so we built our own.
Mind That didn't come from a product roadmap. It started as a fix for something the team ran into every single day.
Established 25 November 2021
01
Off-the-shelf didn't fit
The crew at Niche FM was already running assets and contractors across some of New Zealand's biggest portfolios. The software products Niche used was clunky, hard to find your way around - and they kept thinking there had to be a better way.
02
So they built their own
Mind That was set up in November 2021 and grew from an internal tool into something facility teams across the country reach for every day.
03
The rule hasn't changed
If something's in Mind That, it's because someone needed it on a real job - not because it looked good in a demo.
In partnership with Niche FM.
Strong on its own. Hard to beat with Niche FM behind it.
Mind That is its own product. Anyone managing facilities, assets and contractors can pick it up and run with it. Simple to use - designed for facility managers, by facility managers.
The software keeps the work in order. Niche FM brings the people who know what to do with it.
The people behind it.
A small team, close to the work.
Mind That is built by the people who use it - founders who've lived the operations, a couple of developers who turn that into software, and two advisors who keep us honest.
Co-founders
Ryan Peni
Transitional Chief Executive
Ryan runs Mind That as it grows from a Niche FM tool into its own product. He's spent years managing facilities, assets and contracts across some of New Zealand's busiest portfolios, so he keeps us honest about how the work really happens day to day.
Nick Mason
Chief Technology Officer
Nick looks after the engineering. He's a Laravel developer who has spent years shipping web apps from Rangiora, and he turns what the team needs into software that's quick, dependable and easy to live with.
The team
Shella Bailio
Developer
Shella builds and tidies up the features facility teams lean on every day, and cares about getting the small details right.
Ben Badiles
Developer
Ben works across the whole app - the screens people use and the parts behind them - keeping it fast and easy to get around.
Stephanie Mason
Operations
Stephanie keeps things running behind the scenes, organising the team and the day-to-day so the work keeps moving.
