The story so far.

A platform shaped by the work, not the brief.

  1. Off-the-shelf didn't fit.

    Mind That started as an in-house tool. The team running Niche FM was already managing assets and contractors across some of New Zealand's largest infrastructure portfolios, and off-the-shelf platforms didn't fit the way the work actually ran — too rigid for live operations, too generic for compliance trails real auditors had to read.

  2. We built our own.

    So we built our own. Mind That Limited was incorporated in November 2021, and since then we've grown the platform from a behind-the-scenes operations tool into the system facility teams across Aotearoa use every day.

    The principle hasn't changed: if a feature exists in Mind That, it's because someone needed it on a real job.

Niche FM is Mind That's co-founder, first customer and daily user. Their consultants run jobs, assets and compliance trails across portfolios in energy, infrastructure and government — from the same Rangiora office Mind That is built in.

That proximity matters. We watch the platform get used the way real facility managers use it: under pressure, on a phone, when a contractor hasn't shown up and a tenant is on the line. Every awkward edge gets seen, every shortcut earns its place.

Mind That ships features in days, not roadmap quarters — because the people writing the tickets and the people writing the code share a kitchen.
